Hermit’s Rest

Sunset near Hermit’s Rest in the Grand Canyon.

Hermit’s Rest is at the end of a narrow, winding road only usable by shuttle buses. The bus just barely got us there in time for sunset. Unfortunately it was also just in time for Wendy’s camera batteries to run out, so she headed back to the village. I wandered off, engrossed in sunset photos.

After sunset I headed back to the bus station. The dark, deserted, lonely bus station ten miles from anything. Ten miles of wolves, coyotes, cougars and probably dragons or something. Yeah, it was a little eerie.

I sat around there for 20 minutes, telling myself I really hadn’t screwed up the time zones, there really was another bus. It turned out I was right, thankfully.
